Cataract
A cataract is a clouding of the lens of the eye which leads to a decrease in vision.
The leading cause of blindness in some countries.
Symptoms: blurry or double vision, halos around light.
Cause: aging, trauma, radiation, iatrogenic.
Risk factors: diabetes, smoking, sunlight exposures, alcohol. high myopia
Therapy: surgery to remove the cloudy lens and replace it with an artificial lens.
